Ep.6/ white sage ethics
The term wildcrafted can lead you to believe it’s harmless and well thought through, but essentially it’s taking from the land, and without thought for the repercussions.
LISTEN NOW
There has been a lot of talk about white sage for the last few years and for good reason. It is extremely over harvested in the wild to be sold by people who have “wild crafted white sage“. This kind of practice can completely wipe out a wild native population, which is sad , it’s terrible.
Its profit for the people selling it, but a devastating loss to the land. It’s bees, hummingbirds and other little insect friends that love it.
The stripping of resources and pillaging of the earth with no care for sustainability, will, I hope be seen as barbaric, short sighted and shocking to every human in the near future. In my hopeful heart, our children’s children will unable to understand how it was possible that nothing was done about it for so long.
Ep.6/
White Sage Ethics
“However snarled and hopeless the human dream gets, though, wild plant still willingly take people into their paradise. I don’t know how they do that. it’s a mystery I love to ponder and probably will never solve, which is fine with me because I like mysteries. I just keep asking the plants for their magic and admiring it when it comes.”
